Within Ninth Archive, our in-house Rima Brass is developed for warmth, density, and an evolving surface shaped by oxidation, handling, and age.

Rima Brass is our in-house brass blend developed for its warmth, tactile density, cast depth, and evolving surface texture.

 

Designed to oxidize through handling and time, each object develops tonal variation, softened edges, and darkened recesses unique to its use.

 

Rather than polishing away these changes, NINTH ARCHIVE preserves them as material memory — warmth, age, and contact held in the surface.

Rima Brass is our in-house brass blend developed for its warmth, tactile density, cast depth, and evolving surface texture.

 

Designed to oxidize naturally through handling and time, each object gradually develops tonal variation, softened edges, darkened recesses, and material character unique to its use over extended periods of wear.

 

Rather than removing these changes through excessive finishing, the archive preserves them as part of the object’s physical evolution and material memory.

 

Its warmth and visible aging process create a material language closely connected to carried objects, symbolic metalwork, and weathered forms shaped through repeated contact.

ARCHIVE NOTATION

Rima Brass takes its name from historical Himalayan and Tibetan alloy-metal traditions historically associated with cast devotional objects, guardian figures, ceremonial forms, and long-carried symbolic objects. The term “Rima” originates from Tibetan transliteration referring broadly to alloyed copper materials used throughout traditional metalwork.

 

Within Ninth Archive, Rima Brass is reinterpreted as an in-house brass blend developed for warmth, cast depth, and evolving surface character.

 

Designed to darken, soften, and develop tonal variation through touch and time, Rima Brass reflects the archive’s interest in objects shaped by wear. Within NINTH ARCHIVE, it carries warmth, grounding, protection, and presence.
